Mix Design Collective hits Manchester & TopBrewer clients scoop Mixology Awards

Last week saw Mix Week descend on Manchester, including the inaugural Mix Design Collective event and the highly regarded Mixology North awards. Mix Week is always a hotly anticipated event, but with the addition of the new Mix Design Collective, the A&D community came out in their droves to discover what was hot and innovative in the world of workplace design, employee experience and technology.

Mix Design Collective

We were honoured to sponsor two of six themed workplace design experiences at Mix Design Collective – “Smart & Connected” designed by Michael Laird Architects, and “Engage” designed by FaulknerBrowns. As this was a brand new industry event we had no idea what to expect so we were thrilled to see that the A&D community fully embraced the event which embodied an entirely new thought-provoking concept of immersive experiences, which, for the first time, showcased exhibiting products in a ‘real-life’ environment.

The flagship event witnessed a great turnout of guests who enjoyed immersing themselves in the live working zones, as well as a superb programme of seminars created specifically for the event.

TopBrewer was the primary coffee solution in two of the zones, and the Scanomat team were on hand to demonstrate how to create a premium and personalised coffee using the TopBrewer app. In the Engage space, the team were able to highlight how TopBrewer acts as an enabler for employee engagement and social experiences at work. In the Smart & Connected space, we were able to show off our industry leading IoT capabilities and demonstrate CoffeeCloud, our advanced cloud-management system for coffee machines.

Lucy Turner, Senior New Business Development Manager at Scanomat UK & Ireland attended the 3-day event. She said: “Mix Design Collective was a fantastic event which hosted so many real key players within the design industry. I’m still quite overwhelmed with the ‘buzz’ the TopBrewer created at the event and it has definitely put us on the map in the North and established TopBrewer as the ‘must have’ coffee solution.”

David Smalley, Group Director, Mix Interiors said: “I wanted to say on behalf of the Mix team thank you for your involvement in our first Mix Design Collective.  Last week someone said to me that fortune favours the brave, I am sure he meant that as a compliment that we were bold to take on this new concept and clearly by association so were you.”
