TopBrewer switches to bio-degradable coffee bags
We are pleased to share that we are switching to bio-degradable coffee waste bags for TopBrewer, available in packs of 50 bags. The eco-friendly bags are made of sugarcane waste material, are 100% home compostable and will help us and our clients reduce waste and reliance on single-use plastics.
Sustainability is at the heart of everything we do, and it’s more important now than ever before to take the right steps to reduce our impact on the environment. The coffee machine may only play a small role in the modern workspace or hospitality environment, but global real estate consumes 40% of the world’s energy and raw materials, so even making small changes will have a huge impact!
From its digitally-driven platform and over-the-air updates to its flash heater technology and power-saving mode, we designed TopBrewer to be the most sustainable, eco-friendly coffee machine available. We are constantly working hard behind the scenes to ensure we make sustainable choices in all areas of the business (watch this space for more exciting sustainability news coming soon), and we’re thrilled the introduction of fully bio-degradable coffee waste bags for TopBrewer customers is another step in the right direction. The waste bags are specially made to fit the TopBrewer coffee waste bin, and the innovative technology has been OK Compost HOME certified by Tüv Austria to guarantee complete biodegradability, even in your home or office compost bin.
When your coffee waste bin is full, the coffee grounds and the waste bag can be composted, but did you know coffee grounds have many uses?
- Used coffee grounds contain several key minerals and vitamins for plant growth, so can be used instead of (or mixed into) garden fertiliser to keep your garden in tip top shape!
- Place a small bowl of coffee grounds in the fridge to neutralise any unwanted odours.
- Mix with coconut oil and brown sugar for a DIY body scrub.
