Scanomat UK & Ireland Joins World Class Product & Materials Hub For Architects & Designers In Manchester’s Regenerated NOMA

This autumn, Material Source will throw open the doors to its first Studio offering architects and designers an experience like no other. The brand new 15,000sqft, Manchester-based design destination will allow visitors from across the north west and beyond to fully immerse themselves in ‘beautifully useful’ products and materials, while becoming part of a likeminded creative community. We’re delighted to share that TopBrewer has partnered with Material Source to provide a premium, barista-quality sustainably designed coffee experience which we hope will provide inspiration & innovation for the A&D community in the North West and beyond.

Set across two levels, the studio will feature a wealth of inspirational exhibits and interactive displays. We are excited that TopBrewer will be featured alongside 29 other leading brands operating in the materials and furniture sectors. The studio will host a monthly ‘maker in residence’ – providing a platform for emerging local talent – a CPD area, a 100-seat theatre space, numerous meeting areas for seminars from industry experts and a podcast studio. The space is enhanced further with various internal gardens connecting both floors.

A sustainable & premium coffee experience is increasingly necessary requirement everywhere we go so it should be a key consideration in any space, and we’re thrilled to be able to showcase the TopBrewer experience at Material Source’s Manchester-based studio. With its digitally-driven platform, app- and voice-control capability, and stylish sustainable design, TopBrewer was created to meet the needs of designers and architects whilst also delivering a barista-quality coffee for the next generation of consumer.

Its unique design means that the familiar, bulky & noisy ‘table-top’ solutions are replaced with intelligently & sustainably engineered modules hidden discreetly under the counter, allowing it to be seamlessly integrated into any environment, delivering premium quality coffee without compromising the aesthetic of the space. Visitors to the Studio will be able to customise their own drinks using the intuitive TopBrewer app to customise and order their TopBrewer coffee drink of choice or steaming hot/chilled & sparkling water in one elegant and energy efficient solution.

Material Source Studio brings together the creative acumen of Darren Clanford and the operational experience of Michael Rogan.

Darren initiated the journey 3 years ago with the co-founding of Material Source – an online magazine for architects, designers, and makers exploring a wealth of materials, products, and finished projects. Now, with a social following of over 35k, the magazine is firmly established as a staple read for the A&D community. The next logical step was to bring in the expertise of Michael to help mirror this hive of inspiration offline in order to create a holistic, paralleled digital and real-world experience.

Simon Bracken, Managing Director and Co-Founder of Scanomat UK & Ireland, said:

“We are thrilled to be part of such an innovative project in the North West. The Studio will bring together a wide range of market-leading companies and is set to be a leading resource for architects and designers from across the north west and wider UK.

It’s a truly unique space and the ability to be fully immersed in the products, rather than simply seeing them in a showroom or online, gives the A&D community an invaluable in person experience. We look forward to showcasing the TopBrewer Experience and providing inspiration for the space creators of the future”.

Accessibility was a key consideration from the start. The studio will be accessible for everyone while being fully Covid secure in line with the current Government guidelines.

The studio will officially open in autumn 2021, with further details being released in the coming months.
