Core – Dublin
"We went to Clerkenwell in search of inspiration and discovered the TopBrewer at Orangebox Smartworking®. We were very impressed by the interactive coffee experience and knew we had to have a TopBrewer for our new reception area to welcome clients. It was one of the main finds from our trip,” Cathriona Pendergast, Office Manager at Core
Core choose TopBrewer to enhance the client experience in new Dublin office.
As well as creating a state-of-the-art workspace to coincide with Core’s rebrand, the main objectives of the project was to bring the different practices of the business together under one roof to enhance collaboration and expand the possibilities of what Core can achieve for its clients.
The office design and fit-out was led by Architect, Ian Fewer of Fewer Harrington & Partners (FHP). He said;
“Our brief was to create a sophisticated and timeless office comprising the entire third floor of 1 Windmill Lane. What we have created is a chic interior inspired by the industrial style of Shoreditch design.”

On the hunt for design inspiration, Core’s Office Manager, Cathriona Prendergast and colleague Lorna Kelty headed for London’s Clerkenwell Design Festival, which is where they first spotted the TopBrewer iPad-controlled coffee machine.
“We went to Clerkenwell in search of inspiration and discovered the TopBrewer at Orangebox Smartworking®. We were very impressed by the interactive coffee experience and knew we had to have a TopBrewer for our new reception area to welcome clients. It was one of the main finds from our trip,” says Cathriona.
She adds; “We wanted our client’s to think ‘wow’ as soon as they entered the office and also be able to help themselves to a fresh coffee in a relaxed environment. The TopBrewer was exactly the right solution and we now have a Client Experience Manager on hand to greet client’s on arrival and encourage them to make a personalised coffee.”
Coffee quality was very important and each drink is brewed to order by the TopBrewer and delivered via the stylish swan neck tap. The coffee is made from fresh, specialty grade coffee beans and fresh milk to create a premium office coffee experience on par with artisan coffee shops.
The minimal, integrated design means that the TopBrewer can be fitted into any style of counter to complement the surroundings. Having worked with the TopBrewer before, FHP embraced the concept and designed a bespoke ‘concrete appeal’ unit to house the coffee machine in keeping with the overall industrial feel of the space.
“We were familiar with the TopBrewer from previous projects and loved the streamline and neat design, so we were thrilled to have the opportunity to integrate it into Core’s new reception area,” comments Ian. “We would definitely recommend the TopBrewer by Scanomat to future clients – it is a great product.”
Brian Kelly, Senior New Business Development Manager for TopBrewer in Ireland comments;
“With a growing demand for premium, speciality coffee in the workplace we are thrilled to be launching TopBrewer in Ireland and working with innovating businesses such as Core. It has been a pleasure to work with the team at Core as they clearly understand the value of disrupting the client coffee experience in the workspace. With its intuitive app-control technology, the award-winning TopBrewer is ideal for client-facing spaces and staff refreshment areas, allowing users to get ‘hands-on’ and be their own barista.”
